How to Deal with Scratches on CDs and DVDs?

Scratches on a CD or DVD can cause problems when you try to play them in your computer. If a scratch gets deep enough, it can even damage your computer’s optical drive, making it impossible to read any discs you have inserted into it. Fortunately, there are ways you can minimize damage and avoid scratches in the first place. The most important thing you can do is keep your CDs and DVDs clean by avoiding contact with dust, dirt, fingerprints and other contaminants. In addition, be careful not to drop them onto hard surfaces like concrete or asphalt because that could cause a scratch. Finally, always handle CDs by their edges so that fingerprints don’t get transferred from your fingers to their shiny surface.

More about the interface

The Windows version of Adobe Photoshop CS offers a more consistent interface with its Macintosh counterpart than previous versions have, using similar menu items and toolbars. The consistency also extends to right-click commands on Macs, which should work in a similar manner to those on PCs. This should make navigating both platforms easier for users with experience on one or both platforms. A few functions, such as creating layers and applying layer styles are slightly different between PC and Mac versions. But overall, working with layers is pretty much identical on both platforms. For example, if you create a new layer from an image's Background in either platform by selecting Layer>New>Layer From Background Image or Layer>New>Layer Via Copy , you'll get exactly the same results.
